Tree Cosmos |
For a few brief days in early spring, the
crabapple tree in my father's front yard explodes with color. The
sweet fragrance attracts many visitors, all of whom seem to know this
festival of blossoms will be short-lived.
Soon, the fruit will appear and ripen, bringing
more birds.

The legendary Tony.
Nobody knows exactly how old he is, and few remember just when he
appeared on the scene. Tony became a popular local character
freely roaming the streets of Cherry Creek for several
years.
That is, until one day, when Tony pilfered one too many mouthfuls of
somebody's hay.

To save Tony from animal control, one concerned
rancher offered to give the rogue a safe pasture to call home.
Tony has lived peacefully on the Joe Dale Salvi ranch for about
four years now, and has not gotten himself into any trouble. |
